Second Annual Nature Photography Contest

The Conservation Corps is accepting entries for its 2014 “Nature in Kingston Chase” Photography Contest. This year, photos are required to have been taken in the Kingston Chase neighborhood, including Folly Lick Stream and the storm water retention pond, within the past year. Categories in which photos will be judged are: Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall, Animalia, Neighbors and Nature (photos that highlight our coexistence with the natural environment), and a special category for photographers age 10 and under!

Submit photos via e-mail to Enter as many photos as you wish! Winning photos in each category will be displayed in the Kingston Chase clubhouse and the overall winner will receive a 12x14 framed print of the winning photo! All submissions are due by midnight on January 15. E-mail the Conservation Corps with any questions or issues that arise. The club wants to expand its collection of entries this year and encourages homeowners to be on the lookout for spectacular nature shots in the neighborhood.

Little Free Library Coming to Kingston Chase

There is an effort underway to bring a "Little Free Library" to Kingston Chase.  A Little Free Library is a "take a book, return a book" gathering place where neighbors share their favorite literature and stories. In its most basic form, a Little Free Library is a box full of books where anyone may stop and pick up a book (or two) and bring back another book (or two) to share. Visit for more information.

Interest in the Game Club has fizzled out. Thank you to Betsy Kiker and Barb Craley for suggesting the club and trying hard to make it work. It was a great idea for good clean family fun, well away from the television, computer, Xbox, and other distractions that are not nearly as personally engaging.

Some items recently left at the playground by the pool include: blue adult camp chair, yellow kids camp chair, hand bicycle pump, and travel coffee mug. Please e-mail Tina Sullivan at as the items are secured in her garage.
