Dog Day at the Pool - September 13

Dog owners will be excited to hear that Kingston Chase will again hold its annual Dog Day at the Pool on Saturday, September 13, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. The staff from Maddie & Ellie's House dog daycare will be on hand to oversee the activities. Dogs and their owners will enjoy the time to frolic in the pool before it is drained and "winterized" for the season. If you have a dog-friendly and people-friendly dog, be sure and stop by to enjoy this last vestige of summer before it is time to pull boots and sweaters out of storage and start shopping for the holidays.

Adopt-A-Storm-Drain

The Conservation Corps is instituting an Adopt-A-Storm-Drain program where homeowners will oversee the storm drain(s) on their street to ensure the drains remain free of trash and debris. Most of the trash removed from the Folly Lick stream during the recent spring cleanup was trash that washed down our storm drains. This new program will help prevent trash from collecting (and polluting) the waterways that eventually lead into the Potomac and Occoquan rivers and Chesapeake Bay. Please contact the Conservation Corps at conservation@kchoa.org for more information.

Whether buying or selling, mark your calendar and plan on participating in this fun event.

Fox with Rabies Found in Hastings Hunt

Nearby HOA Hastings Hunt has been notified by Fairfax Animal Control that a person or pet from their neighborhood has been exposed to rabies from a fox. The fox was picked up by an Animal Control officer, and has tested positive for rabies by the Health Department. The Animal Control Office recommends that to help protect our community members from exposure to rabies, be sure that all cats and dogs 4 months old and older are vaccinated against rabies. See the attachment for additional information.
